Eric Schwerin, a well-known business associate of Hunter Biden and former manager of the Biden family’s financial matters, has reportedly made even more visits to the White House and the official residence of then-Vice President Joe Biden during the Obama presidency than previously disclosed.
According to an analysis by Fox News, Schwerin visited the White House and the Naval Observatory in Washington a total of at least 36 times between 2009 and 2016. This count surpasses the previous report in April 2022, where it was revealed that Schwerin had visited these locations at least 19 times during Obama’s presidency.
Schwerin was a managing director at Rosemont Seneca Partners, an investment firm co-founded by Hunter Biden and Devon Archer. Last week, Archer testified before a House committee that then-Vice President Joe Biden was aware of and involved in his son’s business dealings, contradicting Joe Biden’s claims as president.
Reports indicate that Schwerin and Hunter Biden may have first crossed paths while working at the Commerce Department during the Clinton administration. Schwerin was also listed as a partner in Hunter Biden’s lobbying firm, Oldaker, Biden & Belair, from 2002 to 2008.
Schwerin’s visits to the Naval Observatory included attending a holiday reception on December 12, 2015, where other attendees included Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and Archer. This event took place shortly after Joe Biden’s return from Ukraine, where he had threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees unless the country’s prosecutor was fired.
Emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop that was left behind reportedly show Schwerin handling financial matters for Joe and Hunter, including helping Hunter with family expenses. Schwerin was in receipt of Joe Biden’s Delaware tax refund check, and phone conversations between Schwerin and Hunter reportedly discussed Joe Biden’s mortgage.
In February, Schwerin was also involved in the transfer of Joe Biden’s Senate papers to the University of Delaware in March 2010, a transfer that may have included sensitive and classified documents. Special counsel Robert Hur is investigating Joe Biden’s handling of such documents. By December 2017, Hunter had severed ties with Schwerin.
As of now, the White House has not provided any immediate comments on the matter, and attempts to reach Schwerin for further information have been unsuccessful.
