Lara Trump, host of “The Right View” podcast, expressed her concerns to Newsmax about President Joe Biden’s policies, which, despite his pro-union image, she believes are negatively impacting workers in the energy and immigration sectors.
During an appearance on “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Lara Trump criticized what she viewed as performative theatrics by Biden during his brief visit to a United Auto Workers picket line in Detroit earlier in the day. She questioned the expense of his 11-minute appearance, highlighting that taxpayers foot the bill for Air Force One’s operations.
Moreover, Lara Trump accused Biden of engaging in contradictory actions by presenting himself with auto workers while simultaneously pursuing policies that could jeopardize their jobs. She argued that Biden’s push for electric cars and his handling of immigration issues, including the influx of illegal immigrants at the southern border, are detrimental to American workers.
Lara Trump suggested that the Biden administration’s efforts to make the president appear “cool” wouldn’t be necessary if they focused on implementing policies that genuinely benefited the United States.
Her comments come amid ongoing labor disputes involving nearly 40 General Motors and Stellantis N.V. factories in 20 states, where workers are seeking wage increases. The strikes are expected to affect around 5,600 workers. The strike has also led to the shutdown of Ford’s large Michigan Assembly Plant since it began on September 15. Fortunately, there have been indications of “real progress” in talks, which has prevented wider walkouts.
Last week, Deutsche Bank estimated that General Motors, Stellantis, and Ford have suffered production losses of over 16,000 vehicles due to the strike.
Lara Trump emphasized that Biden’s actions may hinder rather than help Democrats in gaining support from striking workers. She quipped that it might have been better for Biden to stay in the comforts of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, sipping warm milk, given the circumstances.
