Fox’s Republican Primary Debate Witnesses Lowest Viewership Since 2015: Is the Traditional Debate Format Losing Its Appeal?

Fox’s recent Republican primary debate faced a significant decline in viewership, marking the lowest audience for any GOP presidential debate since Donald Trump’s debut in 2015.

Nielsen ratings revealed that the debate, held at the Reagan Library and broadcasted across Fox Business, Fox News Media’s linear channels, and Univision, attracted just over 9 million viewers. This number was notably lower than last month’s event, with a drop of 3.5 million viewers.

Former President Donald Trump, who refrained from participating in the first two Republican primary debates this year, delivered a prime-time address in suburban Detroit during the broadcast.

Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the debates, suggesting that the GOP should consider canceling future events, citing their adverse impact on the Republican Party.
