FBI Leaders Allegedly Instruct Miami Field Office Chief to Remove Anti-Trump Posts for Promotion

Leadership within the FBI reportedly directed Jeffrey Veltri, the newly appointed head of the Miami field office, to delete social media posts critical of former President Donald Trump in order to secure a promotion, according to a whistleblower account received by the House Judiciary Committee.

The disclosure suggests that FBI Director Christopher Wray, Deputy Director Paul Abbate, and Executive Assistant Director Jennifer Moore instructed Veltri to remove his “adamantly and vocally anti-Trump” remarks to present a non-political image.

The FBI denies the allegations, asserting that the claims are “demonstrably false,” while critics argue that such actions raise concerns about bias within the bureau. Veltri has also faced accusations of targeting agents with right-wing views, resisting COVID-19 vaccination, or being religious, seeking to revoke security clearances for veterans deemed too radical.
