Senator Lankford Raises Concerns Over Border Security Amid Push for Ukraine Aid

Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., expressed concerns on Wednesday that the Biden administration is not adequately addressing the situation at the southern border while actively seeking additional funding for Ukraine. Lankford emphasized the need for a secure U.S. border, pointing out the influx of individuals from various countries, including Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran.

During an appearance on “Wake Up America,” Lankford voiced his worry about the current state of the border, stating that more than 10,000 people crossed into the U.S. from Mexico on Tuesday alone. He highlighted the administration’s apparent lack of seriousness in addressing the border challenges, despite the significant number of individuals entering the country.

Lankford underscored the chaotic situation at the border, with over half a million people crossing into the U.S. in less than two months. He urged a focused effort to bring an end to the chaos and secure the border.

When asked about the possibility of passing measures related to Ukraine aid and border security before Christmas, Lankford indicated that the administration and Democrats would play a pivotal role. He noted that proposals had been presented for weeks but stressed the importance of meaningful discussions and actions behind closed doors rather than relying on media rhetoric.

Lankford also addressed the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, expressing the need for clarity from President Biden regarding the progress of the conflict. While acknowledging the difficulty of the war and the significant losses on both sides, he emphasized the importance of securing the southern border for national security.

In conclusion, Lankford urged a comprehensive approach to address both the border security issues and the ongoing situation in Ukraine, emphasizing the ability to address multiple challenges simultaneously.
